Why Choose This Coffee?

Sustainably grown, shade-cultivated, and organically farmed, this coffee embodies the craftsmanship of Balinese growers while offering a truly distinctive experience.
More Details
Grown at 1,100–1,500 meters in Bali’s nutrient-rich volcanic highlands, Bali Gold is cultivated by 13 Subak Abians, traditional Balinese farming cooperatives that promote sustainability and economic growth. The coffee industry in Bali was revitalized after the 1963 eruption of the Gunung Agung Volcano, when government initiatives helped distribute seedlings and reestablish farming across the island. Today, Bali’s coffee-growing region spans over 7,500 hectares, with Bourbon and Typica trees thriving under native shade trees.
Bali Gold undergoes wet-hulled (Giling Basah) processing, a method unique to Indonesia, where the parchment layer is removed while the beans still retain moisture. This technique contributes to the coffee’s deep body, rich complexity, and slightly earthy sweetness. The beans are patio-dried, allowing the island’s tropical climate to influence their final characteristics. These methods result in a cup with a full, syrupy texture, warm spice undertones, and a balanced fusion of sweetness and woody depth—a perfect representation of Bali’s exceptional coffee heritage.
