Sourced from the Timuza Coffee Cooperative, our Papua New Guinea Gold – Single Origin showcases the dedication of approximately 260 smallholder farmers from the Kamano tribal group. Nestled in the highlands southwest of Kainantu, these farmers cultivate their coffee in nutrient-rich black and brownish-red loam soils, shaded by native casuarina and albizia trees. With an average farm size of just 1.4 hectares per family, coffee is grown alongside traditional food crops like sweet potato, taro, and cassava, ensuring a sustainable way of life.

Carefully hand-harvested from April through September, only the ripest cherries are selected before undergoing traditional manual pulping, fermentation in bilum bags, and washing, followed by full sun-drying on patios. This meticulous process results in a cup that earned first place in the 2016 National Cupping Competition, a testament to the outstanding quality of Timuza’s production.

This fully washed coffee is crafted from a blend of Arusha, Mundo Novo, and Typica varietals, producing a beautifully balanced profile. Expect notes of red apple, orange, and dark chocolate, with above-average sweetness, complemented by a smooth body and gentle acidity.
